We took a trip into DC yesterday and we didn't need the AC as it was overcast and in the 60's. We have both been there before and have seen most of the sights that interest us. The last time I was here, other than work related, I took Darci during a time when it seemed many of the men at my work and church were taking their kids on a dad trip to Washington. Our goal was to see the natural large silver deposit found in Globe AZ that we were told about during our visit there. Among other things we did find a rugby ball sized silver deposit. It was the biggest in the natural silver display. Of course there were other fabulous minerals and gems on display. Perhaps the most famous is the Hope diamond. We walked a bit on the mall between the Washington monument and Capital Building. We wanted to go see the WWII memorial but ran out of time. Shirley made plans to see a couple of folks she worked with on her mission trip a few years ago to Nicaragua who work in a hospital in Arlington VA. We hoped the subway and a bus for the reunion which they all thoroughly enjoyed. Then back on mass transit to our truck parked in an overflow lot at the closest metro station to my brother Glenn. We met him for dinner 45 minutes later at Texas Road House close to his home and it was yummy. Back on the road again today. Enjoy the pics.
