Fall 2012 Northeast Adventure travel blog

Our Campsite at Fisherman's Memorial State Park

The feel of fall has finally come. This morning the car was plastered with fallen leaves, there was a cool brisk in the air and the days are much shorter. We were hoping that our trip timing would follow the changing of colors but we were about a week ahead of it. Staying here a few days has allowed the colors to catch up with us. The colors are not dramatic, but changing to a light green and a touch of yellow. It’s getting harder each day to continue to wear shorts……

We drove a couple hundred miles to the Hudson River Valley in New York. Most of the drive was through the mountains of Connecticut. It was very scenic and had a touch of the changing colors. It made for a very pleasant drive.

We are staying at a KOA in Plattekill, NY. This is the closes RV campgrounds to NYC. It’s about 75 miles away. Tonight is Yankee/Red Sox game and we have tickets. We will be trying out the NYC metro rail system. It is just a few miles away. Another late night but well worth it!
