Travelling 50km east of Esperance we arrived at Cape Le Grand. We saw some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The colour of the water, vibrant blues, turquoise, blending in with brilliant white sand. Texture of the sand is like talcum powder. Spectacular.People driving their vehicles along the beach need to be aware that conditions change or vary on a daily basis and should check with the ranger before doing so.

There are several granite peaks with outstanding views, including Frenchman Peak. Other features of the park include excellent coastal and bush walking trails, wildflowers and friendly kangaroos.

During the Eocene period, some 40 million years ago,sea levels were at least 300 metres above their present level and these peaks would have been largely submerged. The caves and tunnels found in the peaks are thought to have either been formed or enlarged by wave action and underwater currents.

There are two campsites with excellent facilities for a minimal fee, caravans welcome.

One situated at Le Grand beach the other at Lucky Bay.
