Jerry, Sue and Brian on the pontoon boat

Brian relaxing on the ride

We saw egrets and herons.

Sue piloting our yacht

We think seagulls followed us to eat fish that were churned up.

We passed several marinas.

Holly got to go along.

We passed by our motorhome on our way back to the marina.

On Labor Day our labor was to drive 366 miles from South Dakota to Eastern Iowa where my brother and sister-in-law live (Iowa City). It is a really nice small city and we are in an Army Corps of Engineers' campground again and situated right on a lake created by damming up the Iowa River.

It's been hot as usual but it is suppose to cool off starting tomorrow and be in the 70s. What will that be like!

Monday night we were treated to a delicious dinner prepared by my brother, Brian. He retired a couple of years ago and teaches college students part-time. He took up the task of preparing dinners at home as Sue works full time. The dinner he prepared was wonderful. It looked good, smelled good and tasted good.

Yesterday I went over to Brian's house and he and I went through photographs that belonged to my Mom who passed away in June 2011. I'm hoping to make a book of pictures to tell her life story. It will be an enjoyable project. We had a great time looking at the pictures and reminiscing.

Last night Jerry prepared dinner for Brian and Sue and me and it too was delicious. One of the good things about this sometimes crazy world we live in is that both men and women can enjoy doing things without worrying about strict gender roles.

This afternoon we rented a pontoon boat and went on the lake for a few hours. It was only in the upper 80s today and we had a good time together. I'm including some pictures of our boat ride. We're going to go out for pizza tonight.
