New Zealand Plover

We walked back to the wharf on the Wattle Track to catch the water taxi back to the mainland. We drove about three hours south to Miranda, one of New Zealand's premier shorebird sites. We saw the Wrybill Plover. The Wrybill is a wading bird, found only in New Zealand. It is named as such, since its bill is curved to the right.
