|Drove south today to Palolem which is almost the southernmost tip of Goa. The weather was fine so we thought we would make the most of it and visit some beaches. The only problem with Goa, is that there is no coastal road as such so you drive and then turn right hoping to hit the beach!! We ended up at Mobor Point which was ineteresting - along the River Sal to the coast. Then we headed for Palolem which is a bit like Goa's Blackpool it seems although it was obviously quiet because it is Monsoon. The locals call it Palaga!! Lots of stag and hen parties come and stay here apparently. We stopped at the Palolem Beach Resort for lunch and sat overlooking the beach, watching the fishing boats and of course, the odd random cow wandering along the sand! Was really lovely and we relaxed before bartering with the locals for a camp t-shirt and a wall hanging for Mike and Daga. We set a challenge for each other - from our summer holidays we had to bring back a magnet, camp t-shirt and a wall hanging!! Mission complete!! The only problem here really is that most things are shut so our choice was a little limited!!
On the way back to Majorda the heavens opened and once again we had been fortunate with the weather. Got back home about 3.30pm and had a coffee. Steve went to get the horn sorted and to arrange a new spare tire for the car while I made tea. Off to the supermarket and beer shop and then lazy night in.
Tomorrow we are going to sort out the rest of our trip up north and book a few places. So not much point making an entry! Our last day we are going to Ancestral Goa at Lautolim. Thats it then back up to Mumbai and home!!
