We had a day trip around the Albury area and ended up in Beechworth – Ned Kelly country.
I went through the Beechworth Courthouse where they were preparing for the Ned Kelly Festival next weekend. I was fortunate enough to meet up with Ned and he agreed to get a photo taken with me, lucky man.
I ignored the policeman and didn’t ask him for a photo – mongrel ! (he said he was used to that) And I talked with Ned’s mother Ellen.
We also went to the Beechworth Sweet Company and Barry got so excited over the selection of lollies he almost wet himself. A super expensive shop!
The fudge was almost too sickly sweet to eat. They wouldn’t allow photos to be taken inside the shop but that didn’t stop me outside.
We had lunch at the Beechworth Bakery and I had a Ned Kelly Pie: steak, bacon, egg and cheese - yummy!
