|Cool and cloudy this morning but at least it was not raining.
I mailed some brochures to my brother and then stopped for gas. I put 13.613 gallons of unleaded at $3.919 a gallon in the SUV. I took the SUV through the car wash but it did not do a very good job. I then drove into Anchorage. I took pictures at the Ulu Factory, Alaska Railroad, and Alaska Statehood Monument.
For lunch I went to the Snow Goose Restaurant and Sleeping Lady Brewery in downtown Anchorage where I had a salmon sandwich with fries along with an iced tea. The lunchroom is upstairs and looks out over the Cook Inlet and the Port of Anchorage. On a clear day I would think the view would be quite nice.
I then drove out to Earthquake Park and walked out to the point and took a couple pictures. I then continued along Point Woronzof Road as far as it goes as it bends around the end of Anchorage International Airport. I then doubled back and drove through Kincaid Park in southwest Anchorage. Saw a moose in the field just before the park entrance.
Stopped at Mobile Trailer and Supply. They showed me how one arm on my tow bar was worn pretty badly and that is why it does not release correctly. The owner gave me a good deal on a new one so I purchased that. Came back to the RV and put the tow bar on along with a new safety cable. Hopefully no more problems the rest of the trip.
I then went and picked up my laundry and decided to stop at McDonalds just outside the Muldoon Gate at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson for tonight’s dinner.
Although cloudy, the afternoon turned out quite nice with a little sunshine and the temperature reached 61 degrees.
56.7 SUV miles today.
