This morning started out pretty nice but around noon turned to rain that continued all day. The Air Force did not start flying until a few minutes before 8AM today.

I took some pictures of the B29 Bomber at the Lady of the Lake and then Heritage Park located on Eielson AFB. I then drove the route to the Northern Alaska Tour Company that I will take tomorrow - 29.9 miles and 37 minutes driving time plus time stopping at the kennel to drop off my dog.

I then went into Fairbanks to the Post Office to pick up my mail. I was told it came in this morning. It was sent Priority Mail on June 21 from South Dakota – approximately 5 days.

After the Post Office I stopped at Golden Heart Plaza in downtown Fairbank. There is a monument on the original site of the Fairbanks USO and one for the location of the Trading Post established by E.T. Barnette that became the city of Fairbanks. Then the Alaska/Siberia World War II Memorial, the footbridge over the Chena River, and finally the Visitor’s Center when it started raining.

Fairbanks city streets are narrow with lots of one way streets.

I stopped and put 13.395 gallons of unleaded at $4.039 a gallon into the SUV.

I had planned on visiting the University of Alaska at Fairbanks but because of the rain I came back to the RV.

73.8 SUV miles today.
