So our last couple of days in Amsterdam were great. We embraced our role as tourists and went on a bike tour the other day. The tour took us all around the city and also into the countryside. We had our picture taken in front of a windmill, ate some farmer's cheese, and learned how they make wooden shoes-very Dutch! Of course the tour ended at a bar, classic Amsterdam. :) As much as we liked Amsterdam, we were ready to move on. Today we had our first European train experience as we traveled to Bruges, the most visited city in Belgium. Despite a lengthy delay due to unknown causes, our train ride was uneventful, bringing us through some beautiful Dutch farmland. Bruges appears so far to be a very beautiful old city, although the Tommy Hilfiger store on the ground floor of a 300 year old building is a bit depressing. We have sampled some of the Belgians' best crafts-chocolate and beer-and have found them both to be quite wonderful! We're headed back to the train station tomorrow - allons a Paris!
