We have made it to the Florida Keys. We passed the Keys up on the first leg of our trip because we knew we were coming back. I guess we drove 150 miles and the truck did fine. We found a campground in Marathon that accepted our Passport America membership for $35. We are just a very short walk to the Gulf of Mexico and it is beautiful. We booked a couple of neat outings. I am going fishing today on the Marathon Lady, a party boat I was last on about 8 years ago with my father and brother in law Lutz. We had some great fishing. Tomorrow, we are driving @60 miles to Key West and taking the 90 minute boat trip to the Dry Tortugas and Fort Jefferson. We may even stay overnight in a motel (gasp) so we can tour Key West Sunday. The price of diesel here is a bargain at $4.399 so rather that go to Key West twice, staying over might be a good deal. April weather here is fantastic, mid 80's and sunny. Enjoy the pics.
