|IT'S FIVE O'CLOCK SOMEWHERE!!!
well, today was our wine tasting day in Blenheim! We started out in the rig around 10:30 am going from winery to winery! So fun! Each one was so different- They usually allow u to sample 3-5 different types with Sav Blanc being what they are famous for in this region. It's amazing how much we learned from this experience. Everything makes a difference in wine making! The harvest is a week or two behind schedule due to the cool weather they have had. The vines are FULL of ripening grapes. Everyone was really nice & all had interesting stories.
We are lunch at Saint Clair Estates Vineyard. So good!!!
Mark is handling the rig in city driving like it's a sport car!
Got some good photos today up close of some sheep. You know, they do out-number the human population on this island!
Had grilled local venison & veggies for our dinner in the camper tonight. Who says camping can't be gourmet?!?!
Tomorrow, we head down the east coast to Kaikoura.
Lots of the names around here for towns & streets etc are very Hawaiian sounding. We feel right at home! Perhaps we could be hired on as temporary harvest workers.......
