Where in the world are Raime and Kate? travel blog

Hola amigos y nuestras familias!

(Apologies to anyone who really speaks Spanish if this isn't quite right! That's been the theme of our communication over the past couple of days!)

We began our day, only slightly less jetlagged, at the Museo del Prado, Madrid's most famous art collection. With most commentary in Spanish, we can't say we learned much but the paintings and sculptures were great!! Our favorite pieces were the polished stonework tables (c. 13th cent???) that were incredibly intricate and precisely cut. We visited the very beautiful Plaza Mayor (thanks Pass!!!) and then walked through the gardens adjacent to a beautiful Palace that we don't know anything about because the tour costs 9 euro. But we did meet a very friendly peacock. We've walked over 12 miles in two days! We're very much looking forward to these next couple of months, walking around and looking for shady places to sit every now and then. We have enjoyed Madrid, but don't feel like we would want more time here. Vamos a Amsterdamo!! PC issues kept us from uploading pics - we will try again soon. Hasta luego!
