|After the first few days of absolutely hating it here and counting the days till I go home, the culture shock wore off and I am now completely in love with this place. I was talking to a friend the other day about Winona and when I come back and I honestly kind of cringed thinking about it. Dont get me wrong, I will be beyond excited to come home and see my family and friends again and be in my own house and what not, but I have met such amazing people here and already have so many great memories here that I know these next few months will fly by. We are already planning trips for Easter break and discussing trips for when the term ends and its freaky! I literally just met these people two weeks ago and it already feels like we have been friends for years. I guess being thrown into this situation completely alone and being forced to talk to people and come out of your comfort zone really forces you to make friends fast, and Im glad I did. I dont know if these will be life long friends of mine, but I know if Im ever in Germany or Australia or Canada or other states in the US, I will always have a place to stay. How cool is that? Anyways, Im just sitting in a cafe on campus, looking around and I still cant believe Im actually here. After a solid year of planning and paperwork and dealing with three different schools, I cant believe I made it here and it is even better than I expected. I have never felt luckier than I do right now, even though right now Im currently reading for class and soon have to sit through a 3 hour lecture with kind of a jerk tutor, but oh well. Im still the luckiest kid alive.
