On the night of the 17th we went to a Murder Mystery dinner hosted here at the park. There were probably 200 people there. It started outside with punch and appies. Then we went in and the murdering began! We had a very nice sit-down Italian dinner - tomato/mozza salad, Caesar salad, chicken breast with spaghetti Alfredo and veg, with a cup of Spumoni ice cream for dessert. Our table did not solve the mystery - not even close - but we didn't really care. Met some more very nice people. We attended the Canadian Snowbirds Organization meeting at the Yuma Civic Centre on the 21st (Larry's Birthday). They have over 70,000 members across Canada and there were at least 2,500 at this meeting. They have been working with Senators and Congressmen in the US to allow Canadians to stay for 8 months in the US rather than 6 months. They have seen good success so far and it is going for a judiciary vote in the senate and congress in late spring. If it gets passed this will allow people who are over 50 and can demonstrate that they either own property or can produce receipts for RV Park rentals, etc. in the US.
We went for a great dinner at EAT Asian Super Buffet with Joan and Eric and Jim and Cheryl for Larry's birthday.
We sure hope this gets passed. We continued attending Burger Bashes every Saturday. Western Week was the 20th to the 25th. The week featured horses strolling through the park, gunfights too. It ended on the 25th with a Burger Bash and gun fight. Again some very good music featured. We will miss our new friends from Yuma but hope to see them all again. Off to El Mirage AZ next!
