We decided to stay for day 3 in Globe AZ because we are having so much fun. This has been the most easy to get around place we have been in on our trip. The big honkin' dually hasn't been started the entire time. We can walk from our camp to everything we want to do. Another beautiful day in the mid 60's. Started the morning out with breakfast across the street. Then we headed up to the old courthouse that has had an amazing revamping courtesy of the fine folks of Globe. It is now the Arts Center and it is a beauty. We then walked to the Globe History Museum and toured that. We walked back to the Arts Center and were met by this fantastic employee Kip who took us on a tour of the territorial jail, train depot and freight building. What a great tour! He did this just for us since these buildings are only open once a month. Then we went to this most interesting and friendly eclectic antique shop and marveled at all the interesting stuff. We were so busy we forgot to have lunch! So dinner was at a Mexican local restaurant just outside of our camp. Shirley is now off to a bible study with Lois (the owner of the campground and artist). Oh, I stopped into the Drift In Saloon for a couple of cold ones late in the afternoon. This has been a bar continually since 1902. It was very interesting. We can't say enough about the people of Globe. They have been the nicest accommodating folks we have met. Just outstanding. Promise, we are moving on tomorrow and looking greatly forward to seeing Tombstone, Bisbee, Kartchner Caverns and Benson AZ before we head back to TMM in Tucson for my doctor's appointment on Monday. Enjoy the pics.
