It's been a quiet month in Dunedin, FL.
We have settled in to Site 29 for a four and a half month stay. It's a pleasant site although we are backed up to a swamp area and access to the roof is difficult.
Sue and Arnie quickly returned to the doggie beach on Honeymoon Island and have visited regularly throughout the month.
Scott came to visit for a week beginning on the 21st. We had a good time visiting Clearwater Beach, spending Christmas together, and dining at a variety of local restaurants.
On the day after Christmas the three of us journeyed to Bradenton for a visit with Sue's sister, Katie. We had a great visit including lunch on Anna Marie Island. We made a quick stop to visit Tony Webb's new bachelor pad condo in Bradenton before returning home.
Scott helped us celebrate our forty-sixth anniversary on the 27th with dinner at the Bon Apetite Restaurant on the water in Dunedin.
On the last day of his visit and at the behest of his new friend, Jamie, we all visited the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, home of, the now famous, Winter the Dolphin who had lost her tail and about whose rescue and recovery a movie was made. The aquarium is a rescue and recovery facility as opposed to an exhibit facility.
It was an interesting place with rescued dolphins, turtles, otters, and other marine wildlife. Scott managed a couple of pictures of Winter while I enjoyed the antics of the baby dolphin, Hope.
After a nice visit Scott flew off to Park City for a ski and play New Year's Day weekend before returning to Los Angeles. We are looking forward to a brief visit from our good friend Theresa who is flying in from Austin on New Year's Day.
We are ready for 2012 with a planned visit with our British friends, Heather and Tony Capper on January 5th and my running the Walt Disney Marathon on January 8th.
