Yesterday we decided to drive to Oatman. We heard about it and wanted to see it. Oatman is a tiny little town up in the hills, thirteen miles from Mojave/Bullhead City so it isn't much of a drive from our resort/park. It is an old mining town on route 66 known for it's wild burros that wander through town. The borros are decendents of the ones that the miners used back in the 1930s. When they closed the mines the animals were set free. Sure enough, there they were as we approached the heart of town. Most of the buildings are the original structures so everything looks very old - a living ghost town.
