We arrived today about 3:00 after driving 168 miles. After getting set up, I went and got groceries while Carolyn did the laundry. And then it was time to stay inside and cool off. We have both ACs turned on. It is hot for us; almost 100. It has been a long time since we have seen these kinds of temps.
We had driven past field after field of crops or trees. The farther south we got the more we got away from the salad bowl and more into the fruit and nut trees. We saw trucks and trailers of tomatoes and garlic going up and down the road. In fact, when we were going east up the hill towards the pass back towards Interstate 5, one of the truck and trailer loads of tomatoes were broke down in the right lane. I’m glad it was him and not me. Thank you, Lord. Tomorrow we are headed to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. We were there 6 or 7 years ago. What we remember most is the long and winding road going into the parks. It should be fun.
