We piled into a Princess tour bus and traveled to McKinley Lodge in Talkeetna. The Talkeetna River is fed by glacial melt. The river's water is gray and turbid due to it's high silt content. After lunch we explored a nature trail and took a few pics. The skies were almost solid clouds, hence the Great One, aka Mt. McKinley (20,320 feet), was not visible. This part of the Alaskan Range has over a dozen prominent peaks greater than 10,000 feet and 5 glaciers. After dinner we went to a photosymphony: "Denali: Into a dream". It was fantastic...images of Mt. McKinley and wildlife in synch with classical music. Enjoy the pics.
