We drove from Smithers to Prince George. We are finally driving on good roads. The towns along the way all have names of the lakes that surround them.
We are in Prince George for 2 nights. We drove downtown to the Saturday Farmers market. Cherries, blueberries and plums are in season. We bought some each. The cherries were almost gone before we got home. We walked through Fort George Park downtown on the river. Beautiful park with flowers everywhere along with some really large Elm trees.
We visited The Canadian Superstore. We visited it when we first came into Canada. It's the competition for Walmart. You need a loonie (one dollar coin) to get a shopping cart. It has a key that will release it. When you are done and return it to the cart area it locks into the other carts and your loonie is returned. It keeps the parking lot clear and tidy. Also, you either bring your own bags or you have to buy them when you check out. Great concepts!
Tomorrow we head toward Vancouver.
