|We got up Tuesday and headed to the Pipestone Ntl. Monument to walk the trails and see the still working Indian quarry's where the pipestone is being harvested. It was very interesting. Then to the town of Pipestone for a historical walk. Beautiful buildings built at the turn of the century with this red rock. All told we walked about 5 miles. Then we boogied. Started in Minnesota, drove through South Dakota and Iowa before getting to Omaha Nebraska. 19 miles on a hard packed road with no pavement greeted us in South Dakota and flooding along the Missouri River caused a detour in Iowa but we arrived in Omaha about 6:15 pm and are staying with our great long time friends Glenn and Arlene Fosdick. We met as "kids" in Batavia NY and have been friends ever since. They have a beautiful home and Glenn is a big time CEO of a major hospital and university center here. Shirley has bronchitis and is laying low. Enjoy the pics.
