Shipwrecks that is. We started our day by visiting the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center in Alpena MI. Didn't quite finish when it was time to take the glass bottom boat ship wreck tour. A beautiful clear day on the water for 2 1/2 hours touring 5 different wrecks. All these vessels were from the mid 1800's. The water was so clear and we got a really good view of the old scows. Came back and finished the Heritage Center then headed north. We made an interesting stop in Roger's City where we were able to go out a hard packed road right next to the lake to a visitor center of sorts of a huge limestone quarry. Back on the road and more marinas and a surprise light house at 40 mile point. These Michiganders really knew how to keep their light house keepers in high cotton. What a nice home. We pulled into Cheboygan MI for the night in a very clean and picturesque private campground. There are apple trees all around and it is right on river. A couple of stops today here and then we are headed over the bridge to the U.P. Enjoy the pics.
