Tuesday after Memorial Day, we took a drive up to the Taylor Park Reservoir to visit with our co-workers at the other parks around the lake.
We had a delightful visit with Bob & Becky up at Lake View. What a view, no kidding! It is definitely windy up there, but who cares when you are looking at a breathtaking view like they have.
After we left them we found a perfect spot for a picnic. The snow capped mountains surround us. We could have sat right there and enjoyed the view all day long. But we continued on around to the other side of the reservoir to stop in and see our co-workers, Mike and Deb at Rivers End campground. Now they have a beautiful spot too! The river runs along side the park that is up on the knoll and looks out over the reservoir and across to Lake View. It is a very rustic campground, but what a spot to sit and enjoy the panoramic views. Mike and Deb weren't home, but we took our time looking around at their special place. What we have discovered as we visit all the different campgrounds, is that each one has it's own unique characteristics and beauty.
We ventured back around the lake and made one last stop at Bull Head Rd. that takes you right down to the lakes edge for fishing or dropping your boat (non-motor only) into the water. The lake is low, but the river is raging. The run-off is amazing.
We enjoyed our time for ourselves today, but dirty laundry and grocery shopping await us. We are off to town to get our chores done. We are in a very beautiful area and are looking forward to sharing our adventures with you.
