The Altering

Don and I moved on to Old Federal Campground on Lake Lanier in North GA. My buddy John VanCamp got us an outstanding site on a peninsula with water all around us. Yesterday we went on John's new party boat and what a boat it is. Pics tomorrow of the boat and lake. We came back and had a bar b que and campfire. Had a very nice time. Today more boating and finally swimming! Looks to be a beauty on the lake. I told the guys for a boys lake weekend I really think my father would love this. He would fit right in and might even help us drink the beer (although we did pretty well ourselves). Enjoy the pics.

FROM ROME, GEORGIA: What a great time we had today! Jeanne & I met Tom, Habitat Project Manager, at 8 am at the Habitat HomeStore. We then followed him over to a medical office building next to the hospital. The building is scheduled to be razed in June. The building's owner is allowing Habitat to take anything and everything out of the building for resale at the HomeStore. WHAT FUN! Jeanne & I removed 52 metal miniblinds plus brackets. Then we went on to removing shelves and drawers from all the cabinets in the building...too many to count. Three retired gentlemen were there also, removing entry doors, sinks, wall cabinets, etc. Tom dismissed us at 2pm (we really would have rather stayed and removed cabinets). When we arrived back at camp, I set up my sewing machine on the picnic table and did some alteration projects. We are looking forward to putting down underlayment in preparation for flooring at the Women Build tomorrow (possibly installing vinyl siding, as well).
