We left the Cortez Elk's club and stopped at our favorite Dolores grocery store, the only one in town, and got a few of our favorite things from them. They are always so accommodating. We made a pit stop at Dolores RV Park where we spent 9 days last year. Saw a few friends, but missed our friends, Carl & Clara. They are going to come see us in our park this summer. Being at the Dolores RV reminded us of the great times we had with Jim & Cheryl last summer.
We continued down Hwy 145 towards Telluride. It is always one of the prettiest drives anywhere. It took on a whole different look this trip for us, because it is still so cold and winter like, but what photo ops it provided.
I'll have to say that the remainder of the trip over to Gunnison was just as spectacular. I thought we would see more snow on the ground, but it has melted away quickly. The higher elevations still had lots of snow though. The rig ran up and down the hills without any issues. Len was a very happy camper!
We are both very excited about getting settled in for the summer. It will be my first time sitting in one spot for four months and it appears to be a great spot to do it in. After getting situated, we'll take some pictures of our site and the surrounding area to share with you.
