14th May. We left Cunnamulla and headed for Charleville, like yesterday, we saw more wild life, emus.......we must have seen nearly a hundred in the 200klms. We arrived in Charleville at lunchtime.......we have booked into the Bailey Bar Caravan Park for two nights, the park is just so so, it’s old and it is packed because there is a rodeo here this weekend. Charleville is not at all what we expected, it’s just another run down country town. After lunch we went for a drive to see what is here, we called in at the Corones Hotel, which has at one time been a grand establishment, it has beautiful leadlight windows and elaborate pressed ceilings, there is a small museum in the foyer, showing photos and items, dresses, waiters uniforms etc. from the hotels good like the rest of the town is very run down.

Wayne decided to go over to the rodeo for a while which he said was interesting, as well as the rodeo, dog trials were being held.

15th May. After doing the washing we decided to go to the Cosmos Centre, which is an astronomy watching centre, you can take night tours, but as it is cloudy, they won’t be held tonight, so we did the day one, all very interesting, with lots of interactive displays.

We then went up town, where there is a very nice War Memorial, and then to the “rain making cannons” we don’t know if they work or not, I guess it depends on who you talk to.
