Villages at Summerville

Villages at Summerville

Very relaxing at the Villages of Summerville

We spent our day first going to Folly Beach to tour around. 8 miles from our camp and very beachy which we love. Came back for lunch then off to the Villages at Summerville (SC) the Presbyterian Retirement Home. Uncle Dick and Aunt Beckie Strachan introduced us to many fine folks over the years they lived there. Even though our relatives are no longer living, Shirley and I have continued to visit. First we visited Inez Mitchum who just turned 90 and you would never guess that in a million years. We talked and talked. A very nice visit indeed. Next to Shirley Kruger's home. I can always remember her first name. Such a nice lady. She was very interested in our trip and we were equally interested in learning about her family. Shirley is also the resident PC expert and will be sharing our trip blog with the others. Then on to Dot Brown's cottage where we chatted about a number of different things. Dot was very engaging and is an expert at getting people to provide comments about themselves, such as her interest in our backgrounds etc. Oh, while we were there, Progressive Insurance came by to look at the hail damage to the Big Honkin's hood. Wrote me a check on the spot and told me to set an appointment with an approved company and they will be out to our campsite to ding out the over 150 marks. Not bad. We capped the day off with dinner with Marylou Taylor (niece of our dear friend Carolyn Taylor who recently passed). We ate at Gilligan's near Summerville. Great food but an even better social gathering. Marylou is near our age, a very easy talker and just fun to be around. Great stories and laughter. We all hated to see the evening end. We had some big thunder boomers last night but not a lot of wind and no hail as was expected. Off today. May pics today....enjoy.
