Here we are in Charleston SC at beautiful James Island County Park, and what a park it is! We did over 4 miles of biking on 3 paved bike paths (I know our son-in-law Scott is laughing at 4 miles, he does 30). You can kayak, swim in the pool, splash in the spash down area, fish (fresh and salt), crab, and listen to a concert. This is a wonderful campground for any of our RV friends to schedule a visit. We have been to the Charleston area a great deal over the years. Uncle Dick (my father's brother) and Aunt Beckie Strachan lived in Summerville (just up the road)in the Presbyterian Retirement home. They meant a great deal to us in our lives. Sad to say they are both gone now but we still have friends at the home and will be visiting with them today and this evening. This morning we are planning a trip up the road to Folly Beach. The big honkin' dually got 13.6 mpg and we were able to squeak thru to SC where fuel prices are lower. We were very low on diesel so when we got to the I-95 entrance it was time. As we drove towards the entrance ramp diesel was as high as $4.099 and nothing under $4+. We drove the overpass and guess what the price dropped to $3.939. Hard to believe we get excited at that but the physiological $4 level is real to us full timers. Before we leave I see $3.829 close by. Hopefully the news is right that fuel prices will be going down in the summer. Weather update: strong thunderstorms some containing hail and the possible tornado is in our late afternoon and evening forecast. UGGH! But we are in a good spot what with all the trailers around. Pardon the sarcasm. I am now feeling near 100% as is Shirley. Oh, more visitors to our truck camper. I think we have come up with a cottage industry. We should charge $7 an individual and $10 a couple for a full tour with narration and a photo. And get Lance (the manufacurer) to pay us 10% for any new camper sold and 5% for a used one. The one comment EVERYONE says is "I can't believe how big and roomy it is." Enjoy the pics.
