Getting started.

Happy Easter!! I love Christmas but Easter for me is the true Christian holiday. Without Christ rising from the grave there is no Christianity. We are in Hot Springs National Park in, where else? Hot Springs Arkansas. This is where Bill Clinton grew up. We did not think we could get into the campground here because there are only 47 sites but as we were coming up the road we could see there were sites available. We got one right on the creek! We explored Hot Springs by first going to the National Park Visitors center. A tad of history of this place. It grew because of the hot springs (47 of them) and the belief that the water had medicinal properties. Bath houses sprang up and over the course of time they became quite opulent. They are still in existence and offer hotel accommodations hot baths, steam and massages. Really now upscale spas. The Visitor Center is one of the bath houses that serves now as a museum of sorts. You can tour the entire building and read about how this bathhouse served its clientele. Very interesting. We then took a Duck ride around Hot Springs and the lake. The Ducks are WWII amphibious craft that ride on the road carrying about 40 passengers then it turns into a boat for cruising on the lake. Ended back at camp for BBQ chicken on our grill. We are having a blast. Enjoy the pics.
