Tom and Val (John’s brother and wife) picked us up at the RV park after breakfast. We went to Carlsbad to “Flower Fields,” the annual celebration when their Ranunculus are in bloom. There are huge fields of the flowers, along with a sweet pea maze, antique cars, and a rose garden. It was lovely!

Then we went to Oceanside for fish and chips at Oceanview Fishhouse – a little restaurant that overlooks the ocean. It was delightful.

Finally, we went back to their home, which is Rawhide Ranch, where we enjoyed a lot of catching up and dinner at the ranch. It was a wonderful day with family.
