The Big Trip Around Aus. in a Tin Can travel blog

14TH January. There isn’t a lot in Goulburn (it is very spread out ) considering it is Australia’s first inland city, there are old buildings but most look like a coat of paint and a reno job would be in order. The central park is nice with a big rotunda beautiful trees and flower beds, but there isn’t much in the way of

Tourist sites, apart from the War museum and lookout which is very impressive, I actually (with Wayne of course) climbed to the top of the lookout memorial, we drove out of town to see the big marino, it truly is huge, we had a good look around before coming back to the park. We decided to go to dinner at the Soldier’s Club with Sue & Alan it was a very nice meal and an enjoyable evening.

15th January Had a lazy morning and an early lunch, then we drove into town with the intention of visiting the Railway exhibit, but when we saw what it was decided not to bother, we then drove on through farmland for 32klms to a small rural town of Tarago, not much there really, the main thing is the pub The Loaded Dog Hotel, a very old and interesting place, it takes it’s name from the poem the Loaded Dog, we had a drink and played the machines for a short time Wayne had a little win, which made his day, I came out even. We then drove back to Goulburn.
