Where they'll appreciate me
Goin' out west....
Home again home again. Very nice. After a long day of traveling west - Newark to Salt Lake City to San Diego - I climbed into my own bed and it was heaven. Beside all the great people in my life that I miss while traveling I think my bed has to be one of the things I miss most. It's nice to be home.
Not to get too comfortable in that bed of mine, I was back only a short moment before I started seeing friends. I have had a great week of catching up over coffee and meals all over San Diego. Nothing like breaking bread with those you love and care about. It's also a great way to get to all my favorite food places too. I've been to the Dumpling Inn, Meechai Thai, Extraordinary Desserts, Azucar, OB Noodle House and more. I still have a hit list of must eats before I venture out again and with the help of my friends I'm sure to get to most of them.
On the entertainment front a bunch of us journeyed up to Valley Center on Sunday to the Open Sky Theater to see an absolutely amazing show. Gov't Mule and Widespread Panic played on the same bill and didn't disappoint. The evening air was perfect and with a full moon shimmering in the sky above we danced like nobody was watching. The bands, sound and atmosphere rocked. I saw friends from all over San Diego and Riverside County. What a great night.
The Halloween weekend promises to be more eventful then I had anticipated. It turns out, much to my surprise, that there is going to be a huge block party on my street this Saturday. They are closing down the block and building stages and erecting tents. The port-o-potties are getting set up and the food vendors are stocking up. From the limited knowledge I have so far on this event it seems there are going to be about 15 Local Bands providing the entertainment and the kegs of beer will flow well into the night. Oh well, I've never been one to shy away from a party, let the festivities begin!
So, I'll help scare the children, hopefully watch the Jets extend their winning streak and continue to revel in the friendships and food that nourish me.
Peace and love to all,
P.S. - going to put up a bunch of photo's that wouldn't fit last time - enjoy.
