|After a fairly early start this morning, including Tim's, we were off to Peggy's Cove, according to all the info one of the most photographed sites in the world. Our first stop was at the memorial for Swiss Air Flight 111, just outside of Peggy's Cove. From there we headed to the info center and grabbed a parking spot, grabbed the camera and headed off to walk through the town. We stopped at every gift shop in town, Marilyn bought herself an original Sou'wester Hat. The shoreline around Peggy's Cove is just what I expected to see, very rocky and sparsely vegetated. After hitting all the sites we packed up and headed over to Lunenburg, with a picnic stop on the way over to eat our wings and potato salad. Lunenburg is the site of the boat yard that built the original Bluenose and today's Bluenose II. I was hoping to catch sight of the Bluenose II but unfortunately this is the year they have decided to totally refit it so it was out of sight in one of the boat sheds. Once again we walked the main street hitting all the souvenir shops, and then headed back to the truck for the hour drive back to the truck.
