Max's Semester at Sea: Fall 2010 travel blog

We made it!

Stacy and I took a flight from MSP to Philadelphia today, with about a 2 hour layover and an hour delay, finally made it to Nova Scotia around 5:30 P.M.

On our first flight, we both pulled out our books that we had to read before the voyage ('A Small Place' by Jamaica Kincaid) and sure enough the third kid in our row pulled out the same book. And then, the girl sitting directly behind us told us she was going on Semester at Sea as well. She is a junior at St. Thomas and he is a sophomore at St. Mary's so that was fun to meet a few kids before we even boarded the ship.

After going through customs and getting our checked luggage (thank god every one's made it!) we got a taxi van with two other kids and took that to our motel. The taxi, split four ways, was only $20 per person so that was better than we expected.

We just now got back from the grocery store which is right across the street just to get a few snacks for the ship. Currently eating sushi and cold pasta salad in a pretty run down motel, but at least we're safe :)

We need to take a short taxi to the port in the morning, getting there about 9:30 A.M. and we're off!

Looking forward to journaling about Spain!
