Bridge over Deception Pass

Bridge over Deception Pass

Huge tree near the shore

Driftwood of the beach

Today we moved to a new campground, but still in Anacortes - it is only 2 miles away from the one we stayed in with the caravan. After we got settled in again we drove to Deception Bay. You cross over Puget Sound on this very high bridge, but the views are beautiful. After we crossed the bridge we drove down to the water and walked along the beach. The beach is rocky and there is an amazing amount of dead trees washed up on shore. The water is cold but people were swimming and wading in the water. I guess if you live in this area you are used to the cold water and cooler temperatures. This area has all kinds of berries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries. Everywhere you look there are fields of berries and little stands selling them.

In the evening we met Darryl and Marge and Ken and Jan for dinner. They are both leaving the area tomorrow. It was a pleasant dinner and we said our final goodbyes we sure are going to miss seeing all these people.
