Estes Park, CO Day 2
Spruce Lake RV Park
This day started out with puffy clouds and a beautiful blue sky. We headed off for some more hiking in the park. We saw Alberta Falls which was really flowing because of the snow melt. Then up to the top of Ridge Road as far as we could go before the road was closed. The whole road doesn’t open up until at least Memorial Day as there are still 20 foot high snow drifts in that part of the park. It started clouding over and we saw snowflakes. Thinking this was a nice touch we started driving back down and the snow started getting heavier. The temps fell at least 20-30 degrees so back to the camper for a while.
We have styrofoam we have to place between the camper and the truck. So when we take the truck off the camper we just put the styrofoam underneath and set something on it. When we got back after the snow and wind the styrofoam was nowhere to be seen. So we took a trip around the campground and found most of the pieces. It had blown away and broken up. Some pieces weren’t salvageable but there were enough that we could put it on the bed of the truck for future use. Lesson learned: put Styrofoam in the camper when we leave.
