Spruce Lake RV Park
After a week, we finally made it to Rocky Mountain National Park—a favorite destination. What a beautiful sight to see the snow covered mountains and still be in 70 degree temperatures. We asked the ranger for an easy hike and he gave us one that was 3.6 miles roundtrip with only about 600 elevation gain. Sounded pretty feasible to us. Of course we started at 10,000 feet so this easy hike took us at least 2 hours and we didn’t get to the end. The path was still snow covered (I saw some places with at least 2-3 feet of snow) but what a spectacular walk. Even the gasping for breath was worth the trip. The elk are everywhere here. As we came into town they were just walking down the middle of the road. There were many herds in the park just grazing not caring that there are people around.
