Newton water tower

Newton KOA

Newton, IA

Our destination today was supposed to be Rock Creek State Park in Kellogg, IA. We had stayed there 2 years ago and it is a great place. When we got there, today, most of the sites were reserved and the two that were open we decided against due to the looks of the campers nearby. (Okay so we’re snobs!) We found a KOA in Newton and stayed there. It was a clean campground but not what we would prefer. It backed up to the highway so quiet time wasn’t possible. We found out that the Iowa Speedway was this weekend and all campgrounds and hotels are booked for the weekend which is why we couldn’t get a site at Rock Creek.

As you can see by the picture we posted, there weren’t many things to take pictures of so all you get to see is the local water tower with NEWTON written on it.

John celebrated his 57th birthday today in Newton Iowa on a rainy day. His birthday meal was totally forgettable (am I losing my cooking ability?) but I told him with any luck he would never celebrate another birthday in this location.
