Hi too all:

We thought we were going to get to Hong Kong ahead of schedule. Eric, our local guide in Shanghai got our tickets changed to 2:20 p.m. instead of the 3:55 p.m. we had. Unfortunately, the plane was held 3 hours because of bad weather in Hong Kong. We landed in Hong Kong at 7 p.m. It was fairly easy to figure out how to get to the Kowloon Hotel. We just asked at the tourism information booth and we told we could purchase a ticket for the train right next door. We were told we could get a special 3-day octopus card for public transportation. Cost $300 HK (I think the exchange is $7 HK= $1 US)all but $7.HK is refundable when we return to the airport to leave if we have not used it up. We then got on the train, there were porters to help. Got off at our stop at Kowloon District, there were again porters to help with luggage. Took a free shuttle right to the door of the hotel and had porters there too.

Our room was upgraded for free because they are very booked up. The room is pretty small, but nice. We wondered what size the room would have been if it were not upgraded. We are on the fifteenth floor and have two huge windows that come to a V-shape giving great view. We are right downtown and can also see the water. The best feature of our room is that it has a comptuer and internet service right in our room!!

We slept late this morning, didn't get up til 9 a.m. While on the tour we were up before 6 a.m.nearly every morning. Felt good to sleep in. We are going to look around a bit this morning, and then take a tour this afternoon. Last night, we ate dinner in the hotel at about 10 p.m.. Ate in a Pizza restaurant that was very upscale. We both had lasagne and it was superb! Cost a little over $20 U.S. each, but was so worth it.

Well need to take a shower and get dressed. More later. Don't forget you can sent us emails on this site too!

Love, Jean and Ollie

Hugs and Kisses to Li
