CATCHING UP WITH JIM'S COUSINS: We could hardly believe Jim's cousin Mark Pressey when he said they had room for our RV at their home in Vista, CA (near Oceanside)--and were amazed at their charming 1930's farmhouse and "oasis" in the city as well as the story about how they ended up there. Mark works in Newport Beach, but wife Beth grew up in the area. When Mark's interest in the Pressey family led him to a reunion of Presseys, he met someone with his same name and learned they were looking for someone to rent their mother's home at very reasonable rate, to care for it--it's been a great place to raise their two children, Mark and Zoe, and with the lovely paving stone driveway they recently put in, a fantastic RV site as well. We have a great time catching up with them, enjoy a terrific trip to the Wild Animal Kingdom nearby, ride bikes along the gorgeous Oceanside beach, and stop in at Carlsbad RV park (for potential future visits).

NATE AND TARA SHORT IN FULLERTON AND JEFF SPARKS: We manage to squeeze in a visit (and terrific sushi buffet) with Nate and Tara Short at their apartment in Fullerton where Tara is completing her master's degree this year in genetic counselling as well as dinner with Shirley's cousin Jeff Sparks (who also has gone back to school to pursue a journalism degree) in nearby San Juan Capistrano, anotherMexican and historic town where we found a good mexican restaurant.

THE AMAZING BILL PRESSEY: In order to get together with cousin Bill Pressey and his friend Edna, we extend our visit an extra day. Bill is over 80, rides a souped up motorcycle, plays tennis 3 times a week and goes to the gym regularly--he looks great and is a terrific example for all of us! We surely wish we had more time to spend with these cousins and the great area they call home.
