On the road with Ed and Judie travel blog

We left Lodi/Galt at the early hour of 11:00 AM to head south. The Valley fog was thick, but fortunately was not setting on the ground. Had a good trip, lunched at Harris Ranch before heading over Highway 41 to 46, ending up on Highway 101 in Paso Robles. It was interesting driving thro the San Luis Obispo area (where Kim and Galen went to college). There is quite a grade north of SLO known as Cuesta Grade, thrilling to descend with a trailer behind the truck. Judie was excited she was able to remember the name!!

We enjoyed our final evening (for this trip) with the Schmiedt family eating out in Woodbrige at the Woodbridge Crossing. A nice dinner, fun atmosphere and good company. Just can't want any more than that! Judie also had a nice lunch with Kathy, after visiting Kathy's facility in Stockton. She saw some employees that she had worked with 7 years ago while she was at that building and really enjoyed a bit of a 'home-coming'.

We arrive about 5pm and settled into a park in Oceano (South of Pismo)and plan to look around tomorrow, as well as driving up to Hearst Castle. We toured Hearst Castle 45 years ago on our honeymoon. It will be interesting to see if we remember any of that tour!! Our plan is to move down to the Santa Barbara area for a few days and then go to the Palm Springs area before heading to Arizona.
