This was to be our last stop on this trip and so from Dubbo we travelled through very pretty hilly country via Wellington, Bathurst, Lithgow and into the Blue Mountains to Blackheath. There is a very nice little caravan park in Blackheath which we had discovered on a previous trip. It is situated in a small valley with trees all around, very quiet and well away from the main road. So we spent the last two nights of our long journey in this quiet park. We could appreciate Springtime in the mountains and everything looked very green after the stark red and brown of the outback.

Tomorrow we will go home to Figtree.

We have had a fantastic trip, with so many memories of the beautiful places we have seen and found hard to leave. There was one mishap with the van, a change of tyres for the car and a wheel alignment. All in all we have travelled well and we have had no health problems and we are still speaking to each other! We have only had three days rain the whole time – but tonight in Blackheath, it is raining!

It's time to go home.
