Howler monkey

I slept in this morning because I am still not feeling so hot. Tiffany went for a run, Trevor and John played with the boogie board, and I headed back to my tide pools. About an hour in the sun was enough for me, and I spent the afternoon indoors.

We headed to town for late lunch of cosado and batidos (the fruit smoothies). Delicious, as usual! I asked John, “Donde estan los monos?” (Where are the monkeys?) Five days in and still no monkey sightings? We looked up at the trees that seemed to be a perfect monkey playground and wondered (a) what that stupid dog was barking at, and (b) where the monkeys were hiding. Trevor pointed out that howler monkeys make barking noises that sound like a dog. We put two and two together and finally saw los monos!

We watched a movie (on VHS) and headed to bed early. I am still feeling dehydrated and am starting to worry that I will not be able to finish the marathon. I have only been able to go for a couple of runs here since I am feeling lousy. I guess all I can do is drink lots of water and stay indoors 
