We left early for Leavenworth and the Icicle Creek area, as we were going to have a long day ahead of us and needed to get an early start to it. Very pretty drive to the small, quaint, festive Bavarian Village of Leavenworth. We walked around the Village for a while and then had lunch at a restaurant that features different kinds of soups. I had a bowl of white bean soup that was very good, but also very rich. Nancy and I had been here in the winter when it was really cold, but it was very pleasant this day.
Icicle Creek canyon is not far from Leavenworth and we drove up the canyon for a while, stopping along the way to take pictures before turning around and heading back to Wenatchee. This is a beautiful canyon and Icicle Creek is special, but a storm was brewing and we got out before it hit.
After returning from Leavenworth and Icicle Creek we stopped in at the rig to refresh, pack a picnic, and head out to Grand Coulee Dam which is about 100 miles from Wenatchee and will be the subject of another post to follow.
A long, but productive and fun day with my lovely lady.
