Larry & Lee Ann's Journey travel blog

The garage/yard sale is finally over! Hip, hip, hooray...who knew it would be SO much work! Fortunately, it went wonderfully and turned out to be well worth our time and effort. Folks here in Ely are looking for good stuff to buy as there is basically no local shopping. I ran an ad that gave the address and time, 9-2 PM, NO early birds please...well, we got to Mom's at 7am and started putting everything out/up and by 7:20 there were at least 10 vehicles pulling up asking "are you open yet?" Oh well, might as well let them start browsing. By 8 am we had at least 30 vehicles crowding the street, and by 9:20 we were basically sold out! Good thing, shortly after 11:30 it started raining and boy did it come down! We barely got the few items that were outside in before they got soaked. So now I'm thinking that maybe we should go through ALL of our stuff one last time and do it again in 3 weeks. I think I've lost my mind! It's getting easier though as time goes by. I still have some collectibles, but I think I am going to have to get versed up on Ebay selling to move them. Can't get their value at a yard sale. Anyone interested in some Emmett Kelly Jr and Ronald Lee clowns? Princess house crystal, license plates? LOL

The weather has been really strange. Afternoon thundershowers most everyday and too much wind for us! Like right now...we had a batch of hail this morning for awhile too! The Sea Eagle is still on the back of the truck as we had considered going to the lake today. Unfortunately not a good day for boating. Perhaps tomorrow. Instead I spent the morning cleaning the 5'er. Not a very good trade! So, think I'll go jump in the shower and grab a little nap before dinner. It's always nice to nap with the little patter of light raindrops beating on our rubber roof. Hope it doesn't hail anymore!!!
