On the way to Thailand in the back of a pick-up

(same)

Today was by far the longest and most difficult journey that we have undertaken. We left Siem Reap at 6 am and travelled for 4 hours in the back of a pick-up truck to the Thailand border. By the time we reached the border, we were all covered in a layer if dirt from the dusty roads...we had to take pick-up trucks since it is a dirt road most of the way to Thailand. Once over the border, we still had to catch a bus to Bangkok...about 11 hours in total via pick-ups, tuc tucs, bus, and taxis to reach our hotel. Tonight, we are beginning to explore the area. I just had a nice dinner with friends and then will be heading out later to meet up with the rest of the group, as this is a final night for a bunch of folks. There are 4 of us that will join a new group tomorrow for the last leg of the trip down to Singapore. I am looking forward to exploring Bangkok more tomorrow, but it will be a marathon day as we only have one day here before moving on.
