The constant travelling from place to place over the past few days was beginning to take it's toll and traveller's fatigue was setting in by this point. From Kollam I therefore made my way to Varkala beach for some much needed rest and to recharge my batteries.
It is a very touristy place, but on first impressions is much more appealing than Goa was (less of the pretentious wannabe hippies). The beach is set against a backdrop of red cliffs and all the cafes, restauarnts etc are on top of the cliff, so good views across the beach). Varkala is also a pilgrimage site and the beach is generally split (Indians to the south and Western tourists to the north). Accommodation cheaper on the south though so better to stay there.
Not a lot to report from here really, just nice chilled lazy days.
