We are at Medina Lake TT campground. We were here last year also. This park has a very rustic appearance like a federal park but has full hookups. There is lots of wild life here also. I attached a picture of a huge buck that Dan was feeding. The deer here are very tame and will eat out of your hand. They also are very smart. They learn which campers feed them very quickly and begin hanging around the campsite. They also learn which storage area you keep the corn. We like this campground but the area really has nothing to offer. It is about 40 miles from San Antonio. It is about 50 miles from Fredericksburg. Don, Vicki, Dan and I went to Fredericksburg. It is a town that was settle primarily with germans back many years ago and has maintained that heritage. We had a great german lunch with potato pancakes, weinersnitzle, and red cabbage. Don and Dan enjoyed the german beers. This is also the hometowm of Admiral Nimitz. They have an extensive museum. Dan spent about 3 hours in the museum while Don, Vicki, and I wondered thru the many tourist shops. Our friend, Rich Carlson (the truck driver) was passing thru the area. He also was at some maximum number of hours of driving so he had mandatory rest period. Therefore he was able to come hangout with us for a few days. It was a nice visit. We also visited Bandera, Tx which is about 15 miles up the road. It is said to be the last cowboy town in america. It is one of the last towns you will will have horses tied up in front of the bar, clothing store, or tack shop.
