It's 5:45 a.m. Sunday morning and we are headed out to a town called Fountain Hills. We're on the Gold Wing and it's about 54 degrees. It will be warm later so being a little cold for 30 minutes isn't so bad. Since it is still the middle of the night, 8>}, it is dark and I'm sure we are missing some great scenery. I know we passed Saguaro Lake and the low hills of the Tonto National Forest. We are definitely going home the same way so we can see what we missed.

I am a little sketchy on the details of this event. I believe it is held twice a year. There were 13 to 16 balloons that went up. It was very exciting to be up so close and personal watching the 'balloon engineers' prepare, inflate and take-off. They were all very colorful. Wendy's was a sponsor and many were for hire. The most unique was the ladybug. It was really cool. One challenge for the ballooners was to get in the air, maneuver over to the lake and ever so lightly touch down on the water and take of again. It was a lot of fun and over way too soon.

By now it was about 9:15 a.m. and the Arts Festival vendors are opening up shop. Len and I started looking for coffee and the four of us went off window shopping at the most spectacular Arts Festival I have ever seen. I have made a separate post of today because I have so many pictures I want to share.
